32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Unfortunately, I have to run 32 bit Win 7 on a couple of my machines which I use Handbrake on.
I have noted that the 32 Bit versions have been removed from the nightlies page.
Is this just an oversight or is the 32 bit version gone forever?

Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Yeah, it's discontinued, sorry. You can still build from source if you like, though at some point you could encounter 32-bit specific bugs since we won't be testing it…
Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Bummer....
Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
I'll archive a copy on the download server today when I get 5 minutes.
There is an upward trend of "out of memory errors" happening now and it's only going to get worse as time goes on. Especially now with 4K video on smart phones, x265 and the fact people are more willing to use slower x264 settings to get better results. When XP support got broken 6 months ago, that killed off a a large portion of the 32bit user base so I think the time is now that we stop publishing 32bit builds. (although as rodeo said, you can compile from source if you wanted)

Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
The trend with Windows editing suites has been to discontinue 32 bit versions, for pretty much the reasons you mentioned.
I have a work notebook I can install 64 bit on, so not all is lost.
Thanks for the links. I hate Vista 32, but it will be a while before I can upgrade my home computers.

Thanks s55. Much appreciated.
Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
couldn't you at least support it until the next stable version is out?
Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Hi guys,
I´ve seen that the 32-bit version was left out, but there are still a lot of people with a 32-bit Windows version that will be ... left out on the cold!
I´ve 3 PCs, 2 of them with Windows 7 32-bit (original) and Windows 8.1 32-bit (original) with lots of apps installed, and I can´t just reinstall 64-bit... One of them is a tablet (Atom Z3740) which is 64-bit capable BUT installed from zero is a 32-bit Windows. Also these chips have Quicksync, which is VERY fast and handbrake capable.
I am not saying to compile 32-bit everytime, but at least now and then, or else all 32-bit Windows people will be very disappointed...
I can live (never happened...) with some crashes due to memory leak/issues, but I cannot live without Handbrake...
Please make (at least now and then) a 32-bit version

Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Is it possible you could link to the last nightly build that worked on Windows XP?s55 wrote:I'll archive a copy on the download server today when I get 5 minutes.
Thanks.
Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
Don't have a copy of that I'm afraid. Nightly files expire after a few days.
XP Support broke around 12 months ago. So shortly after 0.9.9. The last nightly build that sort of worked, was during a unstable time in the trunk (Lots of code merging due to QSV/OpenCL), so your best of with 0.9.9 on XP. Before you ask, QSV/OpenCL was very early back then, and very very buggy so your not missing out.

Re: 32 Bit Versions Gone Forever?
QSV does not work under XP (no driver support) anyway.
