New Features for HB 1.0 [Joke Thread]

Post by Deleted User 13735 »

Given the number and variety of requests I've seen, I think Handbrake should honor its user base, and incorporate the following feature set into the next major release:

1. Automatic broadcast level scan and correction.
2. Preset to convert 700MB Divx back into a DVD.
3. Auto-level audio for EBU R-128 and ATSC A/85 delivery
4. Flash output with authoring
5. Full DCI/DLP support
6. Convert 50's TV shows to full color 3D
7. BluRay authoring and burning
8. 8k video and 12-bit SDI output support
9. "Upload to Youtube" button
10. Video ratings system
11. "Target size" option
12. Vocal removal for karaoke
13. Convert in realtime from Netflix
14. 32-bit float point color grading
15. Import FCPX and Premiere EDL files
16. Voice recognition for CLI commands
17. Start the dishwasher when encoding begins
18. Output WMV so we can have some really good quality!
19. Upsize 180p phone video to HD 1080p (by inserting a zero)
20. Sound a reminder to pick the kids up from soccer practice

There are more, but I wouldn't want to overburden the developers with unnecessary demands!
Hope they get right on it.
:D

For 1.1 HandBrake will pick them up directly.

H.265 HEVC isn't on the list yet? Amazing.

And VP9!

What about Home Automation Control too!

As you know, the devs tend to run a bit on the conservative side. After close consultation with Rodeo, we thought the dishwasher control module and soccer practice pickup module would be enough to start . . .

Bummer!!

I thought it a good idea because I just bought a remote control car for my Grandson and it would only take 30 seconds to add.

How dare the developers deny this tiny request when they get paid huge salaries, sit around in the sun drinking beer and I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about and I get charged massive sums for the use of the software!

They haven't heard of the Ballmer Peak.

That gets me thinking, HB needs a breathalizer plug in so the equivalent peak can be found for video editing/coding.

What about a configuration option, where you can select MKV instead of MP4 as the output container format on startup?

How about a mandatory RTFM/FAQ/Conditions and a knowledge test before users are allowed to use Handbrake!!!

What about getting knowledge of the big N, well known in the early days of the Net?
I am aware of the presets, but i thought about an option inside the Options ("Tools"-menu), where you can setup the prefered Container - like the possibility to select the prefered MP4-Fileextension.

Should be not that much work for the developers, but could help noobs like me with the first contact.

HTH.

The container format is specified in presets. When starting HandBrake, the default preset is loaded. Therefore, any global preference would be overridden by the preset loading code - so, no point in implementing it.

You totally missed the point in this thread Starscream. If you read some of the "suggested" features, you'd realise it's a joke ...

Handbrake really needs to be able to reimage any content that doesn't fill my teevee screen to fill it!

I can't believe Handbrake doesn't already do this! I think the developers should stop doing everything else and implement this hella cool feature this evening!

I just want Handbrake to pass through the audio and video streams! This would be an awesome feature that would totally eliminate encoding times!

This should be easy enough to implement in the tomorrows nightly!
