1Ghz G4 iBook

Post by baggss »

Machine Type: iBook G4
CPU Speed: 1Ghz / 763Mb RAM
Number of CPUs: 1
Rip Format: MP4, AVC/H.264
Encoder: H264 iPod
Video Size & settings: 320x240
Quality / Bit Rate: 1200
1 or 2 Pass: 2
Min/Max or Average Frames Per Second (FPS): 12FPS

I have to admit, MF B1 is faster on my iBook than HB 0.7.0 was. The sad part is that the same settings result in 55-100FPS on my Quad, depending on the DVD itself.

iBook 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4

Post by niblum10 »

Machine type: iBook G4
CPU Speed: 1.33 GHz, 1.5GB RAM
Number of CPUs: 1
Rip format: MP4, AVC/H.264/AAC Audio
Encoder: x264 (h.264 Main)
Video size and setting: 720 x 400
Quality/bit rate: 1000kbps
1 or 2 pass: 1
Min or max fps: 5 fps

I'm a little new to this, so if my questions sound dumb, I'm sorry.

Is there any way to increase the fps that I am currently ripping at? I am using MediaFork. Would buying an external CD drive help? Does the rate at which it rips depend on the processor? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Switch to MPEG-4 at 2500Kbit would be faster if your willing to sacrifice quality.

H.264 Will be very slow on a G4 processor. Some of the Advanced options slow it down even further. It is the price you pay for quality.
