2011 MacBook Pro Benchmark (Some questions)

Hi all,

I've just bought myself a new MacBook Pro, 2.3GHz, and I was interested in doing a benchmark for you all (Other benchmarks I've performed with things like Geektool have performed extremely well [11300+ for the 64bit benchmark]). Looks like this Sandy Bridge CPU is a beast.

I'm curious if there's a standard input file and preset you guys use when benchmarking. I ran one test with a 1080p encode with the High Profile preset, and I got something like 13fps, but that was just for fun, and I wanted to use something more standard to test.

If you've got any other tips for benchmarking, let me know.

You might want to use your own sources - they may be more representative of what people generally encode. But if you want copyright-free sources that people can download to compare their machine's performance to your MBP:

Include as much detail about your source as possible (source, codec, resolution).
Use built-in presets without any modifications (or indicate any single modification to the preset).
Encoding speed is written to the encode log at the end of an encode (feel free to post the logs too).
Average encoding speed is more meaningful if the source isn't too short (several minutes long or more).
I personally like to run 3 identical encodes and post the average encoding speed.

Example of good benchmarks:

Mac Pro 6-core Westmere (Intel W3680)
Intel Q9550 @ 3.6Ghz and Stock. Please contribute as well
Mid-2010 iMac Core i5 Quad
