What is the actual resolution of an iPod screen?

Post by Leo » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:29 pm

Hi I thought it was 320x240, but I saw dynaflash wrote:
you should be able to get pretty nice iPod only output using 360 x (xxx) the native iPod screen width. I would try one at 900-1000 at 360 width instead of 368 and see what you get. 368 would be a less than ideal size for the iPod to downscale to 360.
Is this right? Also, is it OK to use non-modulo-16 numbers with iPod? I have a 5.5 generation iPod 80GB.

So I'm best to encode movies at 360xwhatever for iPod viewing? Does it therefore have exactly 270 lines?

thanks

My bad, you are right 320 x 240 is the native screen size. I apologize for the misinformation.
