Display Issue with LG TV

Post by BobSacomano »

Description of problem or question:

I just bought a new LG TV and I'm noticing a display issue with some of my rips that was not present on my old Vizio TV. A number of my discs I've backed up seem to be cropped off the bottom. The lower third of the video seems to be missing. On a computer screen they look and play fine, and on my old Vizio TV they look and play fine, but on this LG TV, they are either cropped or zoomed so that the lower third of the video disappears behind the lower black bar on the screen.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

This is how I usually encode: Preset to "High Profile," width set to 1440 (height automatically adjusts), anamorphic set to "loose," video codec H.264, everything else left on default. Encode to .mp4 container.

I don't have any particular reason for encoding to those settings, it's just how I learned to do it a couple years ago.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.0.7

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Windows 10
