Moved this one to iPod forum.

*sigh* you have to provide us with alot more information than that.
Please provide us with -everything- you did. And what system you are using. We need to know everything as currently the "crystal ball" feature in HandBrake is broken.

im using a MacBook Pro

my settings that i changed are:
1. iPod High-Rez
2. Average bitrate - 2500
3. Checked 2-pass encoding
4. Checked Turbo First Pass
5. Frame rate to 23.976

...and you should work on that crystal ball feature...would be helpful

Could be the fact that you're using 2-pass. What are the movie dimensions?

I don't know, I've used those exact settings successfully.

What is the Video size? 640 x ??? or something bigger?

Hi,
On a related topic...i keep getting the below error when I try to sync mp4 formatted movies from my itunes to my ipod:

Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "The_OFFICE Season 2 Disk @", were not copied ot the iPod "Ethan A Allen's iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod.

For a list of items that could not be copied, click below.

Is this because my handbrake settings are wrong when converting the dvd to my mac?

thank you...

Probably. You'd have to tell us your rip settings for us to help you though.

ekim 1406 (and any others having similar problems) - can I point you to this thread which seems to be the same issue but has more options to try:

http://handbrake.m0k.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2441

PS - sorry that this method of posting **bumps** but I think its useful to try and combine threads that are basically the same issue.

Okay, if you have not read this thread: http://handbrake.m0k.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3075 and its associated links. You should not expect much help.

I guarantee you that the answers are there. Please *try* to help yourself before having others do it for you.

Yes I have read that thread - trying not to upset anyone with moronic questions. Note that I haven't set up a new thread with the title:

"I have a problem....!"

I think the other thread is better to carry on the problem solving...

I'm having the same problem. I can transfer movies that I've ripped with previous versions of HB fine, but any new ones I try using the "iPod high-res" settings won't work on my 5.5g iPod video.

I'm running 10.5.1 with the latest iTunes/Quicktime software, which was installed before the new version of HB.

I even tried renaming the extension to .mp4 but it doesn't work.
