i've been encoding at 720w and 2500kbps for my ipod classic and it's been working very well. now, of course, if you're encoding a 4:3 movie, you need to drop down to 640w in order to stay within the macroblocks limit.

itunes has been letting me transfer 720w and 2500kbps with no problems. i haven't tried anamorphic yet, but i would like to see how that works as well.

iPod 5G--successfully uploaded 720w

Post by scarface_74 »

Using iTunes 7.5 and iPod firmware 1.2 and the latest version of QT, I was able to import into iTunes and copy a 720w movie to my iPod 5G.

The movie specs were:

MPEG 720x356, 2200bps.

Should work fine since that fits within the 1200 macroblock limit.
