Hello!
I read many threads here in the last days regarding the Apple TV (1).
Until now I encoded videos with Handbrake 0.9.4 and the Apple TV Legacy setting because it gives me 1280x720 resolution.
Now I read that this is too much for the Apple TV (1). In some videos I see little problems, but they are not so big.
Is it better to encode the videos into 960x540? Isn't the loss in resolution visible?
I am watching the videos with a 37" Full HD TV.
1280 x 720 or 960 x 540 for Apple TV (1)?

Re: 1280 x 720 or 960 x 540 for Apple TV (1)?
As long as the content is 24fps, 1280x720 will work on the AppleTV1.
The reason the preset uses 960x540 is to maintain compatibility with sources > 24fps.

Actually 720p25 should also be supported, IIRC. But any sources > 25 fps require a lower resolution.nightstrm wrote:As long as the content is 24fps, 1280x720 will work on the AppleTV1.

Thank you all very much for your help!
I will try if it work with 720p or not.
