Movies with encoded "soft" subtitles play fine when recorded on the Apple TV hard drive. However, when streamed from iTunes, they play OK for the first 5-10 minutes, then the Apple TV starts stuttering and buffering the movie until it stalls.
- MacMini (iTunes sharing)
- Ethernet
- AppleTV 40 Go (30Go free)
- encoded with HB, subtitles added with subler.
Other movies play fine even whit much higher bitrate
Have you experienced such a problem? Do you know of any fix?
Thanks. Philippe.

Re: Subtitled movies stutter when streamed from iTunes-Any fix?
I experienced the same issue you are when streaming. What seemed to help in my case was to use the latest version of subler to add the subs, then use the optimize option in subler to resave the file.

Thanks. I ran the "optimisation" on a couple of movies and it seems to work. I'll confirm soon.
