Hey Handbrake devs et al,
Firstly, thank you for this amazing application. Been using it for years, it really is my go to app for video conversion. I was just wondering, if it's not too nosy, how do you guys stay afloat? It's completely free, not ad driven and not driven by donations as far as I can see?
Thanks

HandBrake is a hobby, not a business. There is no legal entity, no staff therefore no costs.
Just a bunch of hobbyist developers putting free time into it.

Well thank you! You guys are awesome. It’s a great tool.

Indeed. I used to use WinXDVD. I bought a lifetime license. What I didn't realise was that they regularly bring out completely new versions and my so-called 'lifetime license' only lasted until they brought out a new version. When they did, they wanted me to buy another 'lifetime license'. Oh and when I came to load up WinXDVD one day, it kindly informed me that I had used up my activation limit and would need to repurchase the software. I've only ever run it on the same computer. HandBrake is amazing.
