So I'm trying to convert my movie and TV collection to H.265 to save space on my NAS to be able to fit more on there and I'm taking advantage of the insane conversion speeds of the new M1 processor in my MacBook (190 - 250+ fps). However, I can't get the right Constant Quality on the settings and it seems to always be a low bitrate or too high of a bitrate and ends up being a larger file than the H.264 version! Does anyone have a recommended CQ for 1080p and 4K video files? It doesn't need to be custom to each video file, just enough so that the bitrate keeps the video smooth and looking right! Couldn't find any information online so this should be a useful thread for other users with the same issue as me
