Convert ratio

Hey guys

I have an old DVD and I think the ratio from this DVD is 4:3 because when I watch the movie I have on the right and left side a big black frame.

Is it possible I can convert this with Handbrake to another ratio which as no black frame?

Yes, HB will attempt to crop off the black bars automatically, and if the automatic detection fails you can manually specify cropping.
