File exported as TextEdit Document

Post by RBoyum »

Description of problem or question:
I select the source and enter the destination with standard presets. The format window shows mp4.
But when I go to the destination location the file type shows as TextEdit Document and it cannot be opened by iMovie.
Suggestions?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
Handbrake 1.3.3

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
MacbookAir Sierra 10.12.6

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

Please replace this text with the contents of your log file between the two code tags - OR - provide a pastebin URL in place of these 3 lines.
If you are unable to do so, please state why so we can help you. (Don't know how to do this.)

Without the encode log, we cannot make suggestions. The encode log would tell us what extension you set on the output file name, which would explain how the operating system treats the output file.

Make sure your file name ends with .mp4.
