When reencoding monochromatic material, is there any advantage to 10 bit?

Not having any problems, just a general question. I love the way 10 bit encodes look. The colors look great and there's no banding.

Is there any advantage to using 10 bit encoding for monochromatic material?

Thanks for any insight.

Yes, 4x the luminance (gray) levels is advantageous for monochromatic material as color.
