What Video Quality Metrics are already exist?

Post by WarthogARJ »

Is there a way to get a overall value for one of the commonly used metrics for video "quality"?
Something like DMOS, or PSNR etc?
Mabe an overall average, and a few statisticvs like standard deviation that describe how variable it was?

It would be useful to have this in the Output.
Or even as something you could select to be tracked.

I'm new to this field, but I see that there is a lot done on it.

Perhaps this exists, if so, can you please tell me where I can find it.

I think the general calculations are already being done to achieve the Constant Quality.
So it would be useful to have an overall value of that.

At the moment, I feel like I'm a monkey fiddling with knobs fairly randomly.
Thanks,
Alan

SSIM and PSNR are available in the encode logs if you target them with encoder tunes.
