I see "Dolby Surround" as an option for downmixing. In Handbrake 1.3.1, is this the 1974 version or the 2104 version of Dolby Surround?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolby_Pro ... y_Surround
They both share the same name, and the documentation in https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.3.0/adva ... sound.html does not specify.
Furthermore, in Handbrake 1.3.1, which version is the Dolby ProLogic II downmixing option?
A) DolbyProLogicII
B) DolbyProLogicIIx
C) DolbyProLogicIIz
Dolby Surround specification

Apologies. I re-read my post twice, looking for errors.
Correction: In Handbrake 1.3.1, is this the 1974 version or the 2014 version of Dolby Surround?

Re: Dolby Surround specification
"Dolby Surround" is the original DolbyProLogic, i.e.the 1987 version.
Dolby ProLogic II is DolbyProLogicII
Dolby ProLogic II is DolbyProLogicII

Re: Dolby Surround specification
Given that Dolby has chosen to re-use old terminology and apply it to it's unrelated Atmos offering, we should consider renaming "Dolby Surround" to "Dolby Pro Logic". Or maybe just remove them all together? Seriously, does anyone use this anymore?

+1 HB's implementation was never that good with strongly correlated channels anyway.JohnAStebbins wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:42 pmOr maybe just remove them all together? Seriously, does anyone use this anymore?
