Will HandBrake Stable get a new update soon?

Hello,
I've noticed that Handbrake stable(1.2.2) hasn't been updated for 6+ months, will it be updated soon? I'm asking because I'd like to encode some videos using the latest x265 3.1 build but unfortunately x265 of HB v.1.2.2 stable is stuck at 2.8. When does the HandBrake Team usually update the stable version?
Also, are nightly builds stable enough to use? Should I expect encoding errors/faults when using a nightly version?

Try the nightly builds, they are usually pretty stable.

The release has historically been roughly annually.

If you care about minor point differences in libs you should be using the nightly.
