Hello everyone,,
I have encoded a bluray to mp4 for plex and playback on roku. Long story short I am looking to change to file from MP4 to MKV. The reason I want to move to MKV (without reencoding)is to be able to merge a DTSHD/TrueHD file into the MKV. I want the HD lossless track for my home theater. Right now I have two versions of the movie.

So is it possible to convert the MP4 to mkv without reencoding?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge...

Not with HandBrake

Something like MkvMerge might do that for you.

Ouch! Seems you made a mistake there?

OK, I feel a little weird recommending my own program by it may help you. Don't worry, it's free. Have you tried "BOX4"?

MakeMKV / MKVMerge will rewrap your files without re-encoding.
