Subtitles

Post by KLeZ »

Hi everyone.
I have started to use HB two days ago.
Great program, but probably due to my inexperience I got an issue probably not caused by HB, but maybe someone here can reply me.
I have made my first x264 encoding. Everything is fine. Audio, subs etc etc.
But while I can see subs in Videolan or MPC, when I put the file on USB key an see it on Smart TV, the three subs are at their place, but I can't see them.
I would like to know if therr are some settings to observe in tab setting.
If you need log, I will make encoding again...
Thanks for your patience.

An Activity Log is required for support requests. Please read How-to get an activity log? for details on how and why this should be provided.

No need to encode again - the logs are stored up to 30 days, unless you deliberately delete them sooner.

The link in the message template tells you how to find them.

Most likely, your TV doesn't support the kind of subtitles you have, but we would need to see the logs to see what handbrake did.

I would suggest separating the "smart TV & thumbdrive" from the equation and determine if the subtitles are working as you would expect on a computer (like the one your ran HandBrake on). It could very well be that the Smart TV is "differently" smart. :)

"Smart" TVs usual are far from it. :)
