I have an .avi file of a Japanese film. When I play it with.vlc media player on my laptop I am able to select English subtitles. However, when I try to convert the .avi file with Handbrake to another format -- specifically .mp4 -- subtitles are not an option for the conversion process. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

According to the information provided when I select the 'about' option under 'Help' the version I am using is 0.9.9.5530 -- 64bit version.
