Description of problem or question:
I have an .avi file of a Japanese film. When I play it with.vlc media player on my laptop I am able to select English subtitles. However, when I try to convert the .avi file with Handbrake to another format -- specifically .mp4 -- subtitles are not an option for the conversion process. Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

According to the information provided when I select the 'about' option under 'Help' the version I am using is -- 64bit version.

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
