Subtitle are kind if transparent

Post by stampeh »

Description of problem or question:
Hi
The problem is that an encoded DVD end up with subtiles that are strange transparent with a colourful edge. They are unreadable.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Encode a DVD, no matter the input and output

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.1.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 (but this also happened in previous versions)

Post by Deleted User 11865 »

Your source isn't actually a DVD, it's an MPEG Program Stream (a single file) somehow mislabeled as an ISO image. This would explain it, the subtitle palette (controlling the colors) is not part of the MPEG-PS and found elsewhere on an actual DVD source.

I could not have figured that out by my self, so thanks. Well, I have to admit that I have found the file at a torrent site. I guess the uploader dosen't know what he is doing.
All the best..
