Add Anamorphic property to video

Description of problem or question:
I have 13TB of MPEG-4 video that I have recorded from broadcasting channels to DVDs,
and then converted using the Aunsoft BluRay Video Converter.
Much of that is anamorphic, but I guess this is not something which is
set as a property in the MPEG-4 files.

I store the videos on a FreeNAS server with Plex installed.

On my Samsung UE46ES8005 (pre-Tizen) the Plex application supports
a mode to play 4:3 files in 16:9 format.
This is not an official port of Plex, as far as I understand.

Just got a new UE75MU8005 (Tizen) with an officially supported Plex App.
This does not have the mode so the anamorphic file is distorted
and there are black stripes to the left and right.

I would like to understand if there is a fast way to update the files,
using Handbrake, so that Plex understands that it is anamorphic video?

The videos are all in 720x576 format.

I would like a solution which is quick, and not a solution that requires recompressing the files.

Using Custom Anamorphic you can probably make it work, but you'll be re-encoding the video unnecessarily.

Mkvtoolnix GUI probably will let you adjust aspect ratio easily: https://mkvtoolnix.download/downloads.html#windows
