AV1 support ?
Hi, now that the AV1 codec is officially released, can we expect handbrake being able to encode in AV1 shortly?

Shortly, no. Longer term, Yes.
AV1 Spec is released but it can take a year or two before a good encoder becomes available that doesn't have encode times that are in the months.
I think we were around 3.5 years wait for VP9 and even now (5+ years on), most folks still today find it intolerably slow although encode times are down from months to many hours.
AV1 appears to have better backing so hopefully won't be as long.
