DVDs that have Dolby Digital logo on DVD face but no 5.1 selection in audio
I have some educational DVDs that have the Dolby Digital logo on the DVD face, but I don't give me the option of selecting 5.1 in HB. When I choose the HQ preset it just shows AAC (CoreAudio) on one line and AC3 Passthru. No 5.1 selection. It was my understanding that a disc that has Dolby Digital means that it was sourced in surround sound. Am I wrong here?

Dolby Digital does not imply anything other than Dolby processing of the audio track.

I reposed in community support forum, but to me, this seemed not like a troubleshooting question but just a general question for understanding Dolby Digital and the settings in HB.

I see you didn't read the rules there either.

mduell,
Do you have some kind of inferiority complex? For a newbie, you are not very welcoming.

The rules exist to help you receive accurate and expeditious support. To be so defensive about ignoring them is unbecoming.
