HandBrake without Temp Path to Fit = Kills SSD's

Post by savegirl2 »

German:
HandBrake ohne Temp Path an Passung = tötet SSD‘s

translated with google in english:

HandBrake without Temp Path to Fit = Kills SSD's
I wish all of you, especially the developers of HandBrake.
I have a very big, or rather small please to the developers of HandBrake,
please allow in one of the next Nightly and later also release version,
that you can create the temporary folder under Preference yourself,
and does not rely on the Windows Temp Path.
I justify this with tangible problem with SSD's: https://ibb.co/cphiKc
As you can see in picture here:

Also, it can be seen, it has been a nail New Samsung M2 SSD 960 Evo with not even 4 months running time, same as before on a Samsung SSD M2 SSD 960 Pro after a period of 5 months.
Therefore, please under Preference as shown in the picture: https://ibb.co/bXiCCx

please create the possibility that you can choose the Temp Path yourself .:

HandBrake already honours TMP and TEMP environment variables. If you want to override it, you can do at a system level, or you can create your own shortcut to launch HandBrake and set it that way. Not that it'll make much difference under any kind of normal use case.

Also, How much encoding are you actually doing? The volumes your talking about are well beyond extreme to the point where the maths doesn't actually make sense unless your deliberately abusing it?

As s55 said those numbers don’t make much sense, why do you think it’s HB causing it?
