2160p (4K) Preset

Will the next Handbrake update include a 2160p preset? More specifically, will it include a SuperHQ 2160p preset.

Yes, the nightly builds have multiple new 4K presets.
There are not any General category 4K presets, since right now it’s difficult to make one that is widely compatible. For instance, Apple only supports 4K HEVC in MP4, while Roku only supports it in MKV, etc. So for now, they are device specific until a commonality is certain.

Though it will be added in Presets, it will be referred as "4K UHD 2160p" rather than "SuperHQ 2160p"... Am I right?

The 4K presets in the nightly build are:
Devices/Vimeo YouTube HQ 2160p60 4K
Devices/Apple 2160p60 4K HEVC Surround
Devices/Chromecast 2160p60 4K HEVC Surround
Devices/Fire TV 2160p60 4K HEVC Surround
Matroska/H.265 MKV 2160p60
Matroska/H.264 MKV 2160p60
Matroska/VP9 MKV 2160p60
There are no 4K presets in the General category. There may be in the future if we can come up with something that works everywhere. Right now, that is not possible.

I've tried to encode a couple of times to 2160p60 4k HEVC but on playback through Apple TV I only get a green screen (no it's not protected content). Does the M4V file have to be x.264 or can it be x.265?

@Breticus, are you using the Apple 2160p60 4K HEVC Surround preset in the nightly build? It should work.
