PCM sound

Post by timmo747 »

Is it possible to convert an uncompressed video with uncompressed sound to H.264 and keep the sound uncompressed i.e. don't convert the sound to AAC or any other compressed format

If you're using the MKV container, you can losslessly compress as FLAC.

HandBrake doesn't make fully Blu-ray compatible output at this time, and Blu-ray doesn't use MKV or FLAC.

That's a pain. Any suggestions as to how to get my film onto Blu-Ray with uncompressed sound?

You really need a BD authoring package, which will allow those options.

The primary objective of most tools discussed here is getting AWAY from optical media.... :)
