Question about batch usage

I'm trying to use the Folder (Batch scan) feature. I have preferences set for automatic output naming. How do I avoid having to specify a output file and just start the process?
This is not clearly described in the documentation. Any help would be appreciated.

The destination file is not optional. Add any items you want to process to the queue (or use one of the bulk add options) and you should be good to go.
