I know DPL II is backward compatible, with older.... Basically i'm ripping retail DVD, but i'm playing is through TV, using TV speakers..
I've been manually adjusting the setting in to "stereo" always before i encode, but wondering should i leave it has Dolby (just in case), or would stereo be better if i know i am going to always be using TV?
Not concerned with "no room to grow' just want to be sure i'm not doing anything because its a waste of time.
Dolby Pro Logic II or Stereo downmix
Re: Dolby Pro Logic II or Stereo downmix
Either is fine in your scenario. DPL2 simply allows you to set your Dolby-compatible to the same to play back the matrixed channels. Neither is wrong for use with TV speakers or a receiver in stereo mode.
