Frames-per-second goes down

Post by Tech198 »

Is there any concern when the FPS in hanbrake goes down when multi-tasking, or just a coincidence....?

For example,, encoding 1080p, and using Firefox on a Macbook Pro, battery status reports for both using 'sufficient energy'

By this stage the FPS in handbrake goes down, not even using browser for intensive tasks, just viewing HTML web page..

After closing these apps, FPS in Handbrake increases. This has got me starting to thing Handbrake should only be run regardless if able to handle multiple treads, cores etc... just because FPS would be an issue... which would not be decreased drastically otherwise..

Or for example, i pause' encoding's while i browse. Its a early-2015 Macbook Pro Retina, which should be ok.... I'm just concern with the lower FPS just as i muti-task.

If you're doing encoding on a laptop, you are seriously abusing your hardware. The system WILL slow down the clock to protect the CPU from heat, whether you are running other programs or not.
