HandBrake 1.0.x Discussion Thread
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread - Lozalization files
There are the localization files with 678 strings in the HandBrake-1.0.0/gtk/po folder of HandBrake source archive.
Looking at the statistics on Transifex (https://www.transifex.com/victorr2007/h ... dashboard/) we can see:
HandBrake-0.10 - 678 strings
HandBrake-0.10.1 - 713 strings
HandBrake-0.10.2 - 728 strings
HandBrake-0.10.3 - 753 strings
ready to use.
Also the 1.0.0 version comes with the files prepared for 0.10?

We don't maintain that translation board. John occasionally pulls from it though.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread - Lozalization files
I don't participate in the translation project on transifex, but I'm glad to merge translations as they are supplied to me. Victor used to be fairly proactive in providing updates, but I haven't heard from him in a while. And nobody has even been attempting to provide translations for the development code which becomes the next release, so the translations from the old 0.10 release are the best available to me.pafri wrote:There are the localization files with 678 strings in the HandBrake-1.0.0/gtk/po folder of HandBrake source archive.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Is it worth re-encoding my existing mkv files?
i.e. Will I end up with a smaller file &/or a better encode?
I'm encoding for an Apple TV 4. On the old version I was encoding using the Apple TV3 preset.

Unless you go H.264 -> H.265, No. (Which I don't think the appleTv supports anyway.)
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
I now have NET 4.6 (listed as ''Full'' and ''Client'' after Reboot), Handbrake 1.0.0. installs ok and crashes on start.s55 wrote:HandBrake only requires .NET 4.6 not 4.6.2 so you can download that manually from Microsoft.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Create a post on the Windows forum and provide the crash information. We can take a look.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
According to the handbook (https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.0.0/help ... ssues.html)s55 wrote:Create a post on the Windows forum and provide the crash information. We can take a look.
it states "Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later installed on your system"
according to MS (https://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/librar ... .110).aspx) vista only works with
"NET Framework 4.6" at the best. So taking those facts together 1.0.0. can't work on vista. This seems to be a dead end.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
HandBrake will run fine on 4.6. It's compiled to 4.6 Only. Not 4.6.1 to maintain that backward compatibility. However, as a general note, I would always encourage people to install the latest for their platform be that 4.6, 4.6.1 or 4.6.2
If you have 4.6 and it's not working, please do report it on the windows forum and we can try help. It should work.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
I installed HandBrake v 1.0.0 and have tested out Dolby TruHD passthrough, which works well for making mkvs. The 7.1 audio came through on my BD rip. However, would it be possible to encode this 7.1 TruHD stream to something in a smaller file size and more efficient, like E-AC-3 7.1 or AAC 7.1? Currently, the re-encode only goes to maximum 5.1 channels.
Even better would be the ability to re-encode a Dolby Atmos TruHD stream to a Dolby Atmos E-AC-3 (DD+) stream.
Thanks.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread - Lozalization files
The last version (0.10.3) present/available for use on Transifex has 100 % translation (including English) on translators side for 9 languages (Chinese (China), Czech, German, Italian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish), 99 % translation for Japanese, 95 % translation for Romanian, 89 % translation for Swedish, 82 % translation for Thai, 80 % translation for Chinese (Taiwan), and some others with less %.JohnAStebbins wrote:I don't participate in the translation project on transifex, but I'm glad to merge translations as they are supplied to me. As it seems, the localization files are prepared, that's not the issue, and are waiting for usage for about one year.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
There are no prepared translations for 1.0
We do not manage these ourselves. It's a 3rd party.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
What happened to the Quicksync encoder? It now uses 100% of my CPU (on 0.10.5 it barely made a dent). Is this a bug?
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Where should I request a feature? I'm hoping for a "core" audio mix option that will separate the DTS and AC3 core tracks from DTS-HD and TrueHD. Its part of mkvmerge.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
It's still there. You should start a thread in the support forum with your logs.mareri91 wrote:What happened to the Quicksync encoder? It now uses 100% of my CPU (on 0.10.5 it barely made a dent). Is this a bug?
In the feature request forum.gorek wrote:Where should I request a feature? I'm hoping for a "core" audio mix option that will separate the DTS and AC3 core tracks from DTS-HD and TrueHD. Its part of mkvmerge.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Ummm, HandBrake already does this. For every DTS-HD and TrueHD audio track, HandBrake also gives you a DTS and AC3 audio track which is the "core".gorek wrote:Where should I request a feature? Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Guys, the main page offers to download version 1.0.1, yet it says in the news that the latest version is 1.0.0. Also 1.0.1 thread - viewtopic.php?f=33&p=166787#p166787 leads to this thread
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
1.0.1 is a minor bugfix release only, so we can continue the 1.0 discussion here.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.0 Discussion Thread
Okay, fine then. May I ask what is the difference between Decomb and Yadif filters in the new version? I thought that Decomb uses yadif while deinterlacing or something.
Autofilled title tag, size mystery...Re: HandBrake 1.0.x Discussion Thread
hi, *nix version, since 1.0.0, the title tag is filled automatically, but I don't want a tag, and besides, it is wrong!11!!! as it cuts off at the first dot and I use the filename by default.
Since I cannot remember to clear the tag each time, I am forced to use mkvtoolnix to rip out the title and it finishes with ~3-6MB smaller on a <>=Gig .mkv file, which has not previously been the case. Is this a bug??? (this occurs even if there is no change made to the file, just a run through mkvtoolnix takes a 256.3MB file down to 252.9MB)
Thanks
sorry, forgot, the entire handbrake window, windowed or maxed, is now too tall for my native laptop resolution 768 and cuts off the bottom status text line halfway.

Re: HandBrake 1.0.x Discussion Thread
Why is 1.0.1 so slow compared to the last beta version? I'm getting conversion speeds that are up to four times slower
Re: HandBrake 1.0.x Discussion Thread
Because you are using different settings, different versions of the filters/encoders etc… but without a log who knows.
Re: HandBrake 1.0.x Discussion Thread
Actually the settings are exactly the same. The filters and encoders are exactly the same as well. I'll check the logs and see if can pick anything up. I'm using El Capitan (the latest version).
Thanks for the prompt reply.
