Transcode Audio Only?

Hi all,

I'm needing to transcode audio streams (typically MP3 to AC3) in a large number of files that have compressed video streams. I don't want to recompress the vide, just pass it through while transcoding the audio. Can Handbrake do this?

AVIdemux should do what you need, it can transcode audio while leaving the video stream as-is, and it's free. VideoRedo would also work and IIRC would be easier to set up a large batch job with, but it's NOT free (unless you can finish what you need done within the free trial period).

If you want to stick with Handbrake, you can always just select the lowest quality video settings, and let it go to work, it will go very quickly, then re-mux the streams you want from the two files (video from original, audio from reencode).
