The developers here don't need reminders. What specifically is in this release that you need in your work?

We probably should have bumped this a while back. But it's too late to put it into the release IMO.

There is nothing all that interesting in the x264 release. A load of arm optimizations and a couple very minor speed improvements on x86.

Nope. We will upgrade as and when there is a good reason to and on our own schedule.

Why the sad face? Is there something (aside from a bigger version number) in the latest release that you require? I keep a close eye on the x264 development mailing list. If there is *anything* of significance to HandBrake, I propose a bump on our review board. I've seen nothing that would be of any use to anyone except people running on arm platforms. I've never heard of anyone successfully running HandBrake on an arm platform.

Nor would I even think of trying Handbrake on ARM.

Heh, s55 says he tried it a while back. Appearently it *does* run on an RPi. Requires lots of patience.

Not that it matters, given we don't officially support it.

I did give it a shot just for fun.

Give it a rest. You have already been told we upgrade in our own schedule.
