Using Bob with custom decomb filter

Post by fatpizza »

Hi,

I've got some really weird anime BD's which seem like they're hard telecined VC-1 but when I pass them through with the default telecine filter to 23.976fps I get inconsistent results in that some parts of the encode play fine, but others play really jerky like it's decimating incorrect frames on certain scenes. Due to various cirumstances I don't want to use a variable framerate so I thought I'd try the decomb filter. Problem is that when I use the decomb filter with default it seems to detelecine it and I end up with repeat frames.
When I try using the bob decomb filter it seems to get the field order mixed up(mediainfo says it's tff) and the video is really jerky and if I use frame by frame in VLC frames step-back like it's using the wrong field order.
Anyway I thought I'd try using a custom decomb filter since I can specify field order manually, but looking at the wiki page here: https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/Decomb there doesn't seem to be an option to set the mode to bob.

Any tips? :)
