Or should I just continue to use the the ATV 3 preset as is? IIRC, the one downside to the ATV preset is that ATV's can't handle the sheer awesomeness of DTS (ok, so really it doesn't support it) and it gets converted to AAC/AC3. And looking at the device specs for the Fire TV, it doesn't look like it supports DTS or TrueHD either. It does say that it supports up to 7.1 (which the ATV does not) but I'm not quite sure how to go about enabling that.
Allegedly, the Qualcomm chip on the FTV can handle DTS, but it's been disabled so they don't have to pay the licensing fee (which would up the per-unit cost of the device).
Anyone have any thoughts on preset tweaks for the FireTV? Thanks.
Anything to change with using the ATV3 preset on Fire TV?

if not dts, re-encode to ac3, or look for some hack or something to enable dts. Just a gu3ess that it supports ac3.
