How do I extract the title menu video of an DVD ISO file?

Post by rhap4boy »

When I encode an DVD ISO file, how do I have HandBrake encode the title video (menu) also? I tried every title and every chapter but don't see the it.

You can't include the menus.

If you go into the VIDEO_TS folder and find out which VOB file contains/is the main menu, you can feed that file to HandBrake directly. All you'll get is the audio and video from the menu: it won't be an actual menu you can interact with.

Thanks. That works!
I believe usually the file is VTS_01_0.VOB

I also found out that sometimes the extras on the DVD are not showing up in the HandBrake title selection. I had to manually search for the VOB in order to extract those. Usually it is the last VOB in VIDEO_TS. Why is that?

Is there an utility that will allow me look at the structure of the dvd menus?
The reason is that sometimes it is a pain trying to compare the movie clips to see which one it missed.

Also, sometimes the title video is just a single picture. When I encode VTS_01_0.VOB, the result is an empty clip where everything is black for about 1 seconds. Is there another way to encode/extract that?
