VLC Version

Post by nathug »

I've been reading here that if you have the 32bit version of Handbrake, you should have the 32 bit version of VLC, and 64bit HB with the 64 bit VLC.

Is this only if you need it for disc ripping? If not is it OK to mix?

I ask as right now, I don't use HB for ripping, just encoding and haven't had an issue with running the 32 bit version of VLC with the 64 bit version of HB.

You can mix bitness if you want. HandBrake will still work just fine (except it won't be able to read any DVD with css)
