Please help

Post by gellie »

I was able to rip a home made dvd to my mac and upload it to itunes then sync it to my iphone,no problem. Now i'd like to copy the dvd and i cant seem to do it! I have tried to re encode the original copy to TV(mva) and mp4 to no avail. Every time i burn a new dvd and try to play it on my dvd player i get a" non know format' message on my dvd player. Thanks.

er, dvd's are mpeg-2. Handbrake will not encode to mpeg-2. You need different software to copy a dvd.

What is the best video codec transcoder for the Mac? I want to transcode mpeg 1 & 2 files to a format that is more compatible with iMovie. iMovie loses the audio when it is imported. I think avi or divx is okay.
