burning freeware

Post by csmithal »

Hi,
I've used Handbrake to convert the .vob files to an .mp4 format, however, iDVD is not recognizing the mp4, therefore, I cannot burn. Can anyone recommend a good freeware program (or one that has a trial version I can 'try out')??

Thanks so much

My question to you is why would you convert a .vob to mpeg4 and then back to dvd? .vob is the main container of the dvd format and can be burned directly to a dvd if you have the right program (like toast) with no quality loss. Going to mpeg4 will degrade the quality and then back to DVD will degrade more. Plus you have the simple issue, for sake of simplicity, of Idvd making all movies 30FPS. If its a movie your trying to duplicate, the result will end up choppy and not smooth like the original since film is 24FPS.
