Disable burn subtitles in presets

Hi guys, I've created a preset I use to convert my old h264 (or worse) movies to h265. It automatically selects the audio tracks and subtitles I need in the correct order.

What I'm not able to do is disable the automatic "forced burn" that automatically activates on the first subtitle. A temporary solution is to click the "select behavior" combo (sorry, I'm translating on-the-fly from my Italian interface: it's the combo immediately above the subtitles list) and deselect the two BD and DVD subtitles choices.

I can't find a way to save this to my preset. I've tried to save it again after made this change, but next time I start Handbrake the options are *on* again.

Is there a solution for this? Maybe manually adding a text string to the .json file?

You you can save the changes to a *new* preset, and select that new preset. You cannot save preset changes in-place (i.e. to the same preset).

Thanks for your answer but I'm (almost) sure it's what I did. I saved it with a new name, made it default and deleted the old one. But the two option, on next relaunch, were on again. :(

Well, I just tested v1.4.1 on my Mac and it worked, so not sure what's going on in your case. Maybe you can record a video of some sort?

You're right. I've neve noticed there was a "save" command in the preset menu. I pressed that one and it worked.
I'm (almost) sure the other method (save a new preset) didn't work, but I'm (quite) sure I may have made some mistake in the process. I used a similar name and it's (very) probable I've deleted the new one instead of the old one. :D
