Incorrect Handbrake Metadata for Twonky Server

Post by SteveHubbard »

Description of problem or question:

Handbrake is not saving the metadata in the correct tags. Twonky server is reading the title of the movie as "Stereo" instead of the name of the video.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.3.3

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

MacOS 10.13.6

Twonky is reading the tag out of the audio track. Please raise this with twonky.

The tags written are correct.

I have just received a message from Twonky asking me to download "Tag Editor". I did so and checked out the 5 offending files. It appears as though Handbrake is not putting the name of the video against the Tag - "Title". I manually added the names of the films to this column and it then worked fine. Thought this may help.

If the video title tag is NOT populated, Why is twonky using the audio track title? That really doesn't make any sense to behave like this. Most other software either displays the filename or nothing in this case.

What about in the log metadata that I supplied, it says next to Title: Stereo

That's metadata for the audio track. Not the video track.

HandBrake will default name the tracks if you don't explicitly set a name.

So this is to be expected.

Either way, There is no reason for Twonky to be using the audio title as the video title.
