How to read the readme on mac

Post by kd4video »

Description of problem or question:

Cannot read readme - note there is no activity log for handbrake on this machine since I have not yet read the readme nor opened the program. How do I open those readme, etc. files and what the heck is that extension?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

double click on readme or any of the files with the odd .markdown extension

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

good question, I just downloaded it last week from the official sie

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

Mac OS 10.14.6

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

There is no activity log on my computer yet; see above

Any text editor will open it.

or it can be read with full formatting here: https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/ ... E.markdown

That said, what you likely want is the Documentation https://handbrake.fr/docs/

I just right clicked and opened it with TextEdit.

Why not just use the .txt suffix, instead of the markdown suffix?
