DVD Television series rip

Post by Maverick96 »

Description of problem or question:

Hello all. I apologize if this advice has been asked before.

I usually use Mac DVDFab to rip my old shows but my main issue is the there are only edit options of brightness, contrast, saturation and I want to try and remove noise and artifacts when ripping instead of having to put them through another program to clean them up.
I’ve tried other programs like aisessoft that offer enhancement options but the results aren’t amazing.

Can I get people’s feedback on what settings will produce cleanest and most detail rips with Handbrake?

I want to keep 4:3rds aspect and rip to 1080.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

DVD is never 1080p, so you would have to upscale the input, which isn't a good idea.

Handbrake's editing features are minimal.
Davinci Resolve has a free version for Mac, I believe.
