Render Video - CPU Temp. to 90 ° normal?

Post by CharlyFive »

Hello!

I am currently rendering a 6GB video in HandBrake (Version 1.3.3). The CPU temperature is 90 ° is that normal? All cores are working.

Remaining time from rendering 3 hours.

To Mac:
Year of construction 2019
3.7 GHz 6-core Intel Core i5
32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB
1TB Apple SSD

Apple likes running their machine near the thermal limits (price of being thin) so it's not uncommon to see them running Hot and in many cases, thermal throttling the clock speeds down.

OK. So it's normal so far and I don't need to have any concerns?

Rendering at 90 is not unusual on Mac or Windows.
