Description of problem or question:
hi there, long time user of handbrake, first real issue. i scan a disk and it reads correctly, i point it towards a directory i know is valid (having saved there a million and one times before) but then when i click run, it doesnt start the encode. any advice and ideas are welcome

2014 imac with apple's superdrive, given me no problems thus far
using a dvd purchased within the last few days.

1.3.1
Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
MacOS Mojave (10.14.6)

What happens if you use actual ripping software, like MakeMKV, to read the disk? Just because you're using the unsupported 3rd-party library to remove CSS encryption does not mean that handbrake can deal with other forms of copy protection, or even errors on the disk.
