Presets and Add titles to Queue do not save or work

Post by exod »

Description of problem or question:
I have an issue saving presets. When I do save them it changes. Am I doing something incorrect? I'm attempting to add all the subtitle tracks to the videos which are VOBSUB and CC608

Any help would be appreciated/

Issue1: When modifying the subtitles section then adding all the titles (File > Add titles to Queue...) into the queue the specifications do not stick to the video. However, if add just one then it does inherit.

Issue2: defining the desired preset then attempting to save it results in the preset not saving as specified see below.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
I have the following subtitles section defined:
Image
+ have all tracks added

scenario1: works - manually adding a title to queue
if I add it to queue then the settings take.
Image

scenario2: not working - create a preset
- when I click save
Image

- check the audio settings
Image

-- check the subtitles settings
Image

-- when click save add the subtitle window changes removing one of the subtitles.
Image

I can confirm this by adding it to the queue

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.3.1

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Half of your images are not working…
The audio and subtitles selected when applying a presets are managed by the audio and subtitles behaviours panels. If you want all the tracks, you have to change the track selection behaviour.

Ok images fixed. Thanks for telling me.

I did select the desired audio and subtitle behaviors in the panel. It works when you add a single title to the queue. But It doesn't work when you do use the File > Add Titles To Queue. See the images for details.

What did you select in those panels?
When you add the current title to the queue, it will simply add what you see in the window. When you add multiple titles, it will reapply the preset to all the titles.

>What did you select in those panels?
- So i fixed the issues with the images now all of them load in the post above.

But here are the detail steps
- source: VIDEO_TS (loads 20+ titles>
- Selected Preset Fast 1080p30
MODIFIED
Summary TAB > Format > to: MKV (from mp4)
Video TAB > Video Encoder > to: H.265 10-bit (x256) (from H.264 (x264))
Audio TAB > Biterate > to: 192 (from 160)
Subtitles > Tracks (selected Add All Tracks) >
to:
Foreign Audio Search [x] forced [ ]Burned in
0: English Closed Caption (4:3) [VOBSUB
1: English Closed Caption [CC608]
None
from:
Foreign Audio Search [x] forced [x]Burned in
None

observations:
- when you add a single title to the queue it adds the desired settings above ( as you confirmed)
- but when you batch add using (File > Add titles to Queue) it uses the unmodified preset ( as you confirmed)
- you can't save then modified preset as specified.

Yes, as I wrote before, tracks selection used the settings in the selection behaviour panel. If you don't change it to add all the tracks, nothing will change.

So I created a view with all the settings and the overall setup and results. It essentially shows that the preset that I've defined did not save as desired.

view video

thanks for your help

Again, you didn't change the selection behaviour settings…

Ok i get thanks.. sorry first time going this deep into handbrake.

when you go to the
>Save New Presets
>Subtitles > select behavior
> Track Selection Behavior > All Matching Selected Languages
>> English (FIX: select the language of the subtitles)
> Options > [x] Add Closed Captions when available [x] Add Foreign Audio Search

Now the presets save. THX!!! for the patience and help. This issue can be closed.
