how to get h256 main10 'high' setting

Post by handbra119 »

I use latest version of handbrake on my macbook pro 15 (2017 late)

4K Mkv to m4v (or mp4)

original Mkv file has Main 10@L5.1@High setting.

I don't know how i get 'high' on setting with H265. there is no section to choose it.

H264 i can choose base, main, high on setting but h265 has no option.

I think 265 will select whatever level your settings require, so don’t worry about it.

Why do you want it if you're not using any codec features that require it?

If you want to force high tier for x265, you need to add

Code: Select all

high-tier
to the additional options in the video tab.
https://x265.readthedocs.io/en/default/cli.html
However, HandBrake will normally choose the best option for you.
