Storage/Display Size and Anamorphic Setting

Post by Allistah »

Hey all --

Quick question..

When I load amok file in Handbrake v1.3.0, I set the dimensions to 480p and then when I look on the Summary tab, I see this:

(Initial state): Size: 854x480 Storage, 1152x480 Display

I understand what that means - that's not the question. The part I don't understand is this:

If I then go to the Dimensions tab and change Anamorphic from "Auto" to "Off" and then right back to "Auto", the Summary page then shows this:

(Modded state): Size: 854x356 Storage, 854x356 Display

Why didn't it change back to the initial state when I set it back to Auto? Is it better to leave it as the initial state or would it be better to do this flipping of the anamorphic setting so that it's at the Modded state?

Thank you,

Sorry about the typo, I couldn't figure out how to correct it. The first line should be "When I load a mkv file in Handbrake v1.3.0"

GUI tries to avoid increasing resolution (which is pointless), but is ham handed about it when going back and forth between anamorphic modes.
